The Los Angeles County Sheriff's will present 21 hours of FREE CERT training in Monrovia. The classes will be held on February 6th, 8th, 13th, 15th from 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM, and Saturday February 18th from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. YOU MUST ATTENDED ALL 5 CLASSES.

The classes will be held at the All Nations Church 1848 Peck Rd., Monrovia, CA 91016

Following a major disaster, police, fire and medical professionals may not be able to fully meet the demand. People will have to rely on each other to meet the immediate life saving and life sustaining needs, particularly in isolated neighborhoods that may be cut off from the main roads for a period of time.

The Community Emergency Response Training (CERT) program was developed through FEMA to provide basic training in safety and life saving skills for the general public.

The course curriculum covers the following modules:
 Emergency Preparedness
 CERT Organization
 Fire Safety
 Disaster Psychology
 Emergency Medical Operations-One victim
 Terrorism
 Emergency Medical Operations-Triage
 Course Review
 Light Search and Rescue Operations
 Disaster Simulation Exercise
