Woman Rescued After Plunge Off Highway and Frigid Night in Angeles National Forest - TV News VIDEOS - LASD
A missing woman spent a frigid night in the Angeles National Forest after her truck plummeted 300 feet down a steep embankment. Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Air-5 Rescue Helicopter Crew, Montrose Search & Rescue Team and other deputies found her alive at 5,000 feet, despite a harrowing crash and the bitter cold.

The eight Search and Rescue teams and Air 5 Rescue helicopter of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department average about 350 search and rescue missions every year, making it one of the most active counties for search and rescue missions in the nation. Over 100 LASD Search and Rescue team members are Reserve Sheriff's Deputies who give their valuable time and risk their lives on a moment's notice - for one dollar a year.
