Walnut Deputies Bust Indoor Marijuana Growing Operation, Diamond Bar
On Monday, May 7, 2012 at approximately 5:00 PM, detectives received information that marijuana plants were being grown at the 24000 block of High Crest Drive in the city of Diamond Bar.
An investigation was conducted and two suspects were detained leaving the location. A search warrant was executed and an elaborate marijuana grow system was discovered.
Approximately 1000 marijuana plants, at various stages of growth, were recovered along with approximately 400 pounds of finished products. The value of the marijuana plants and finished product are approximately four million dollars.
It was also discovered that electricity was being stolen from Southern California Edison. A representative from SCE responded to the location and estimated the stolen electricity to be over one hundred thousand dollars.
Guoyun Zheng, male Asian, 43 yrs of age, resident of city El Monte, was arrested for possession of marijuana for sale with a bail set at $100,000.
Bat Chenh, male Asian, 32 yrs old, resident of Alhambra, was arrested for possession of marijuana for sale in lieu of $100,000 bail.
Both suspects were booked at Walnut Sheriff’s Station with a scheduled court date of May 9, 2012 at Pomona Municipal Court.
